If you listen to the Society and Pioneer when un-employed you will end up cleaning toilets and other peoples crap the rest of your life. My mother still gives me a hard time about my new Career taking me away from the meetings...but I don't care...alittle schooling and hey presto! A job that I really love doing and feel proud of, what a change!!

Unemployed? That's more time for the ministry!
by truthseeker inhow many times did you hear jws say that you have more time for "jehovah and the ministry" if they knew you were out of work.. it makes me sick.
i was recently unemployed for a couple of months and all i get is these comments.
better to do with my time than waste it knocking on doors trying to recruit.

i have been busy reading steve hassan's book, " combatting cult mind control " and just wanted to share several thoughts now that i'm about 25% through the book.
it has been a real eye opener of how the power of a cult like the " jehovah's witnesses works.. one thing he mentioned is that in cults, " members are systematically made to feel phobic about ever leaving the group .

although i am not a member of the jehovah witnesses, in the past, two members called at our home, and a conversation started.
i have never forgotten that day, and so that is the reason for my visit.

We love to count time preaching to people...you are "Easy pickens" we can talk about many different things but...like a Taxi cab our "meter is running" and our hours/points are rising....we would cruise around talking to lots of folks who had no chance in hell of changing religions but they were good for bumping up our hourly average.

OFFICIAL REPORT STATS WANTED FOR 2007 NOT 2006!!!

however, this link is for the 2006 stats which were published in the february 1st 2007 watchtower.. as made clear in an earlier thread, i'm looking for the 2007 stats which, for the first time, will not be published in the watchtower but which will be confined to the 2008 jw yearbook and our kingdom ministry insert.. are those stats available yet??

I know what Steve wants but it's just not avalible yet...how wierd I would have the figures by now...makes me more curious. I bet the figures are really bad, since they have not been encouraging for a while...will they EVER pass 7 Million I'm dying to know.

Aust= Missionary Quits!! Watchtower wants his "English Teacher" wages???
by Witness 007 ina brother from the 1st ministerial training school in australia, quit his missionary assignment in asia.
the society had to send him in as an english teacher otherwise missionaries are not given visa's.
so on assignment he had to teach english part-time for a small wage.

she mentioned that many of the witnesses specified that they wanted a white or latino only.
of course there is nothing wrong with this (personal preference), but i found it interesting.
